Step 2: Carbon Content

This sections describes Step 2 of the new project submission process.

Step 2 of the new project submission process involves the provision by the Project Owner of the carbon content information.

Step 2: Carbon Content

The Project Owner is requested to fill in the following mandatory information about the carbon content of the new project to be submitted for validation to the ZeroSix platform, as well as to upload the necessary supporting documentation.

Type of Oil & Gas Project

A list of oil and gas production operation categories, used to provide context for permanence documentation and verification.

  • Conventional Oil

Oil API Gravity

A measure of how heavy or light a petroleum liquid is compared to water: if its API gravity is greater than 10, it is lighter and floats on water; if less than 10, it is heavier and sinks.

Float

0-99

Gas Heating Value

The heating value of a fuel is the amount of heat released during its combustion. Also referred to as energy or calorific value, heat value is a measure of a fuel's energy density, and is expressed in energy (British Thermal Units) per specified amount (standard cubic foot).

Integer

0-9999

Ethane

Molecular weight percentage of Ethane (C2H6) in the liquid dropout component of the natural gas, if accounted for separately from the produced gas stream.

Percentage

0-100%

Propane

Molecular weight percentage of Propane (C3H8) in the liquid dropout component of the natural gas, if accounted for separately from the produced gas stream.

Percentage

0-100%

Iso-Butane

Molecular weight percentage of iso-Butane (C4H10) in the liquid dropout component of the natural gas, if accounted for separately from the produced gas stream.

Percentage

0-100%

n-Butane

Molecular weight percentage of n-Butane (C4H10) in the liquid dropout component of the natural gas, if accounted for separately from the produced gas stream.

Percentage

0-100%

Iso-Pentane

Molecular weight percentage of iso-Pentane (C5H12) in the liquid dropout component of the natural gas, if accounted for separately from the produced gas stream.

Percentage

0-100%

n-Pentane

Molecular weight percentage of n-Pentane (C5H12) in the liquid dropout component of the natural gas, if accounted for separately from the produced gas stream.

Percentage

0-100%

Hexanes+

Combined molecular weight percentage of Hexane (C6H14) and more complex hydrocarbons in the liquid dropout component of the natural gas, if accounted for separately from the produced gas stream.

Percentage

0-100%

Oil Sales Receipt

Document from 3rd party off-taker with recent measurement of oil API gravity and method used.

File

Gas Analysis Report

Third-party gas analysis report from credible institution, showing gas and natural gas liquids composition and heating value.

File

Gas Shrinkage in Operation

Percentage of produced gas stream used in operations, vented, flared, or otherwise not accounted for at the volume reporting meter.

Percentage

0-100%

Once all their mandatory information has been provided the use click the Save button and waits for the corresponding success notification to appear on top right corner of the user interface. The user then clicks the Next button to proceed to the next step of the new project submission process.
